Roma Prisoners & Prospective Teachers

Workshops with young Roma Prisoners and Prospective Teachers in Greece

One of the most important common spaces for equal participation and interaction of Roma and non-Roma is that of young Roma prisoners and our students, prospective teachers (Common space with Roma prisoners & prospective teachers). Six three-hour workshops were planned and implemented for the 2018-2019 academic year. The workshops aimed at designing and implementing linguistic and mathematical literacy activities. The activities were based on a Roma tale story, which prospective teachers co-edited into teaching material with the cooperation of young prisoners and later dramatized by the group.
