The final conference was organized by the University of Thessaly and took place online, within two days (February 18th, 19th). It was attended by 216 people from the three partners’ countries. The conference gave the opportunity to participants to share their experience inside partnership and to disseminate the results to both stakeholders and to the broader society.
The first day the focus was on actions implemented in the Roma communities. After the presentation of the objectives and the actions of CoSpIRom, the consistence of the project with the European Commission framework was pointed out. Then the conceptual framework of the project and the results of both fieldwork for mapping the situation and of the actions in Roma communities were presented. Particular actions and participants’ experiences were also shared, with the highlight of this day the presentation of Roma youngsters.
The 2nd day of the conference was devoted in actions/ common spaces in prison: students/prospective teachers – young Roma prisoners; police/prison officers, young Roma prisoners and the influence of the participation in these actions to all of them. Representatives of prisons, of all partner countries, presented each prison framework and highlighted the importance of these kind of actions for young prisoners. Also, the research team of each country presented the way they designed and implemented literacy activities together with prospective teachers and young Roma prisoners and the reaction of both groups. The highlight of this day was the roundtable with students/prospective teachers of each partner country who shared their experience of collaborating with young Roma prisoners. Finally, the evaluators connected the project’s actions to the national framework for Roma integration and to current theories that address social justice issues.
